{"id":956,"date":"2018-05-05T12:16:39","date_gmt":"2018-05-05T17:16:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/?p=956"},"modified":"2019-06-05T11:16:08","modified_gmt":"2019-06-05T16:16:08","slug":"i-lost-11-pounds-in-12-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/i-lost-11-pounds-in-12-days\/","title":{"rendered":"I lost 11 pounds in 12 days!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-960 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Losing-weight-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Eating healthy losing weight\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Losing-weight-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Losing-weight-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Losing-weight-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Losing-weight-750x500.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3>Yes, I actually lost 11 pounds in 12 days!!<\/h3>\n<p>It is hard to believe and surprising but I did lose 11 pounds in 12 days.\u00a0 I have talked about my weight loss and how I hate to diet and exercise.\u00a0 My attitude is that I like to eat and I like to relax.\u00a0 The last thing I want to do is watch what I eat and go to the gym but let me tell you what happens with that attitude; you get fat!<\/p>\n<p>We all start out as those healthy teenagers and then something happens with life.\u00a0 We put ourselves on the back burner and start taking care of everyone else.\u00a0 No wonder we want to eat what we like and just relax because life is hard.\u00a0 Look at our lives.\u00a0 We have children and take care of them and then there is working full-time and daycare and then working at home after work.\u00a0 Even if you stay home with your kids, it is still a full-time job. I won&#8217;t even get into having to wash the clothes, cook supper and everything else that goes with running a household. \u00a0 At the end of the day were are done!<\/p>\n<p>The result of all this stress and hard work is that we are no longer the healthy person we once were.\u00a0 We start getting overweight.\u00a0 Our joints start to hurt.\u00a0 We no longer have the energy we once had. Fatigue sets in and basically, the earlier the bedtime the happier I am.<\/p>\n<p>My wake up call to losing weight was when I started having a stabbing pain on my left side.\u00a0 I went to the doctor and he said that was my intestine.\u00a0 What?\u00a0 That made no sense to me.\u00a0 He told me to get some blood work and he gave me an order for an ultrasound.\u00a0 The doctor said that the ultrasound was up to me.\u00a0 If the blood work came back ok then I didn&#8217;t have to get the ultrasound if I didn&#8217;t want to.<\/p>\n<p>Then I remembered when I had my appendix out. I was about 24 years old.\u00a0 That blood work came back fine and in fact, the upper GI they gave me in the emergency room showed nothing as well.\u00a0 They did the surgery and my appendix was bright red and just about to burst.\u00a0 Based on the fact that no test showed anything wrong with my appendix except my extreme pain, I decided to have the ultrasound even though I had not gotten the blood work back.\u00a0 I was going with my gut feeling on this one.\u00a0 Pun intended!<\/p>\n<p>The blood work, as usual, was fine but the ultrasound showed something different.\u00a0 It showed gallstones and the possibility of the beginnings of fatty liver.\u00a0 I can handle the gallstones but what about this fatty liver?\u00a0 That really scared me and yet the doctors acted as if it was nothing.\u00a0 To me, fatty liver is a big deal.\u00a0 Your liver is not working as efficient when you have fat clogging it up and the fact that the liver is the most resilient organ in the body and I managed to make it fat because of my own food choices did not sit well with me.\u00a0 I was the cause of this and no one else.<\/p>\n<h3>How to begin eating right!<\/h3>\n<p>I took it upon myself to start my own diet and rid myself of fat and get healthy once and for all. So how do you lose weight?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>NO sugar!\u00a0 You give up all sugar.\u00a0 I can see you rolling your eyes now but believe me that is a big deal.\u00a0 Sugar is an addiction.\u00a0 I love sugar and I have a really bad sweet tooth.\u00a0 No more chocolate and cookies and cakes and pies.\u00a0 No more fruit juice.\u00a0 I am reading labels to determine the amount of sugar in everything.\u00a0 It really hasn&#8217;t been as hard as I thought it would be to give up sugar.<\/li>\n<li>No grain!\u00a0 That&#8217;s right, no bread!\u00a0 Nothing with flour.\u00a0 No sweet bread, no rice, no quinoa, no rolls, no oatmeal.\u00a0 None of those foods.\u00a0 Each of these foods raises your blood sugar level and I just said in #1 NO sugar.<\/li>\n<li>YES dairy.\u00a0 Well, that kind of is true and kind of isn&#8217;t. No milk.\u00a0 Each cup of milk has 11 grams of sugar.\u00a0 I do have heavy cream in my coffee and I use heavy cream to make my salad dressing. Yes to butter and yes, I eat real cheese.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>So what did I eat the<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-958 alignnone alignleft\" style=\"background-color: transparent; color: #333333; float: right; font-family: -apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,&amp;quot; segoe ui&amp;quot;,roboto,oxygen-sans,ubuntu,cantarell,&amp;quot;helvetica neue&amp;quot;,sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; height: 300px; letter-spacing: normal; max-width: 1064.24px; orphans: 2; outline-color: #72777c; outline-style: solid; outline-width: 1px; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px; margin: 8px 0px 8px 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Eating-healthy-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Eating healthy\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Eating-healthy-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Eating-healthy-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Eating-healthy-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Eating-healthy-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Eating-healthy-400x400.jpg 400w, https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Eating-healthy-125x125.jpg 125w, https:\/\/thekindredway.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Eating-healthy-500x500.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>se past 12 days to lose weight?\u00a0 Let me give you a sample of my diet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For breakfast, I usually cook bacon, remove it after cooking and then I add onion.\u00a0 I sauteed the onion and I add additional ingredients like mushroom and raw spinach.\u00a0 Once that has cooked down, I had eggs.\u00a0 I eat wonderful eggs and bacon for breakfast.\u00a0 There are days when I eat boiled eggs with salt.<\/p>\n<p>For lunch, I make a huge salad that I can usually eat two days in a row.\u00a0 I use spinach and iceberg lettuce.\u00a0 The added ingredients are tomato, cucumber, cheese, olives and whatever else I can think of and I make my own salad dressing.\u00a0 My salad dressing is Duke&#8217;s mayonnaise with heavy cream and salt and pepper.\u00a0 I like creamy salad dressing and this works for me.<\/p>\n<p>For supper, I have steak or chicken breast and I have vegetable sides.\u00a0 Asparagus with parmesan cheese or a squash and zucchini dish are wonderful and filling<\/p>\n<p>I eat really well and I try to plan ahead but I have added a small can of tuna to a bowl of lettuce to make this work.\u00a0 I have just begun and I have lost 11.2 pounds in 12 days.
