Classic Guacamole
Awesome Guacamole
Nothing tastes better than good guacamole.
Guacamole is a quick and easy recipe. The great thing about guacamole is once you get the basic part of this recipe, you can change it up any way you like. There really aren’t any rules when it comes to guacamole.
There are so many ways to add your own touch. I add white onions but I know some people that add red onions. I know people who hate cilantro or tomatoes and wouldn’t even consider adding these ingredients. Some like lime and some like lemon juice.
Make sure you have ripe avocados. Ripe avocados have darker skin. Gently press down and if you can feel a give when you press then they are ripe. If you press and it feels as hard as a rock, the avocado is not ripe.
One word of caution when making guacamole; try to make only what you think your family and friends will eat. It does not store well and will turn brown usually by the next day. It’s better to make a new batch than to have to throw it out because you made too much.
Guacamole is great with Tortilla chips but it can be added to salad and tacos or whatever your heart desires. Here’s to great Guac!
