Cabbage, Potato & Sausage Pressure Cooker Meal

Cabbage, Potato, Sausage Pressure Cooker Meal

I love to make meals in my pressure cooker.

The great thing about using a pressure cooker is that you can cook anything.  Did you forget to take something out to thaw for supper?   No big deal.  You just put that frozen food in the pressure cooker and it will be cooked in no time.

I actually have two pressure cookers.  I have an electric one for meals and I have a big pressure cooker for canning foods.  Either way, they are a great item to have in your kitchen.

I wondered how I lived my whole life without a pressure cooker.  There have been many days when it came time to cook and I had nothing in mind and nothing thawed out.  This was truly a life saver.  All ingredients can go into one pot.

This is a life saver!

The meal today is a one-skillet pressure cooked meal.  It is fast and easy.  You can easily adjust the ingredients based on the size of your family.

This is an easy one skillet meal that can be prepared in no time.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 4 people 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 Medium Potatoes
  • 1 Link Sausage
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 1/2 Head Cabbage
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper

Instructions

  1. Clean, peel and chop potatoes, onion and garlic and add them to the pressure cooker.  (I did not chop my potatoes.  They are so tender that they break apart just from stirring).
  2. Add 1/2 cup of water.
If you have an electric pressure cooker you may have a setting for potatoes. Cook the potatoes on that setting. If not, set your pressure cooker for 12 minutes. Let it release naturally after the 12 minutes has ended.

  3. After the potatoes are cooked, carefully open your lid and add the sausage and cabbage, salt and pepper. Set the pressure cooker for one minute and allow the air to release naturally.
Open, stir and serve. See, fast and easy!
